WallPed and its manual ARE considered shareware and can be uploaded onto
any Genealogy based BBS for the use of all. WallPed may NOT be sold or used
for profit by anyone other than Heidbrink Software Systems.
Every effort has been made to supply complete and accurate information.
However, Heidbrink Software Systems and its owners assume no responsibility
for its use.
-----------------------------------------------------------
WallPed will take the information from a GEDCOM file and print a large
pedigree chart to hang on the wall.
WallPed does not care how many generations or record numbers there are in
the GEDCOM file.
Once WallPed has been run you may move or delete the GEDCOM file, the
GEDCOM file remains the same as it was. Several new files are created by
WallPed that will allow WallPed to run much faster.
When you want to use the information from another GEDCOM file simply put
the new file in the same directory as WallPed. When you run it type in 'Y' at
the prompt for Rebuild Data Files. This will tell WallPed to scan the new
GEDCOM file and remake the WALLPED files.
With WALLPED you may print 3, 6, 9, 10, 11 or 12 generations. For a wall
size chart print 11 generations. The last generations are printed in super
compressed mode to fit as many names on as small a space as possible. You may
also choose which "page" you want to print. For example if you add a few more
names to your direct line you don't need to print the whole chart again, just
print the "page" that has changed. The "pages" are as described below, 'A'
will print All pages.

The Decimal Codes for the different print modes used in the program
default to those used by Epson and Epson compatible printers. If you have a
non-Epson compatible printer you may enter the appropriate codes.
The following table will give you an idea of how big your chart will be :
# generations width (pages) length
6 2 1 page - 11 in
9 3 2 pages - 2 ft
10 4 4 pages - 4 ft
11 4 7 pages - 6.5 ft
12 4 13 pages - 12 ft
The name line on the pedigree chart will look like this:
First Name LAST NAME__________IND#>__FAMC#
where IND# is the Individuals Record Number and FAMC# is the Marriage Record
number of his/her parents. If a number prints below the FAMC# that is the
number of children in that marriage, if this individual is the only child then
this number will not print.
I will answer all questions about WallPed and my wife will consider all
requests to improve it. I haven't spent alot of time on this manual as I
think the program is very user friendly. If enough people show interest in
the program I will spend considerably more time with it.
